Federal Marshals took singer Chris Brown into custody Thursday afternoon to bring him to a pre-trial hearing in Washington, D.C. later this week for a misdemeanor assault trial.
Marshals spokeswoman Laura Vega told the Associated Press that Brown was transfered from a Los Angeles jail into Marshal custody on Wednesday. In D.C., Brown and his bodyguard, Chis Hollosy, face misdemeanor charges for allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old outside a W Hotel in Maryland in October.
The alleged victim says that when he tried to get into a picture with Brown, the singer told him, “I’m not down with that gay [expletive]” and “I feel like boxing.” The man was treated at the hospital for a broken nose, according to NBC Washington.
Brown has been in a L.A. jail since mid-March. A judge ordered that the R&B star be taken into custody after he was dismissed from court-mandated rehab in Malibu.
